A Pair of Suspects Formally Indicted for Prison Murder of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins

Two individuals now face murder charges after the death in prison of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) have both been charged with murder and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to police authorities.

Watkins, 48 years old, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after admitting a string of sex offences which included the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were confiscated.
