Former NFL Athlete Antonio Brown Files Innocent Response in Attempted Murder Case

Former National Football League wide receiver Antonio Brown is traveling to Miami to address an murder attempt charge connected with a shooting that happened in May, with his attorney submitting a not guilty response on his behalf.

Detention logs in Essex County, New Jersey, show that Brown was discharged on Tuesday morning for his relocation to the state of Florida. Brown, a highly popular figures in the National Football League, had waived transfer to Florida from New Jersey, where he was taken after being taken into custody in Dubai.

Brown’s lawyer, Mark Eiglarsh, stated in an email that he has earlier submitted a written innocent response to the attempted murder charge. Brown could be in a Miami courtroom as soon as Wednesday early for a release session, Eiglarsh said.

According to his detention document, Brown is alleged of grabbing a pistol from a safety guard after a star match contest in May and shooting multiple shots at a person he had confronted with previously. The claimed target, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, stated to investigators that a bullet scraped his neck.

Eiglarsh stated that Brown was only protecting himself from Nantambu.

“The measures he was obliged to take were exclusively in defense against the reported individual’s hostile behavior. Brown was assaulted that night and responded within his legal entitlement to protect himself,” Eiglarsh said.

Brown was not promptly apprehended because originally police did not consider Nantambu as a victim. It wasn’t until subsequently in May that Nantambu delivered a complete statement about the incident to police and named Brown as the shooter, the document says.

From his digital updates, Brown had been living in the city of Dubai for several weeks. In a update after the incident, Brown said he was defending himself because he was “jumped by numerous persons who sought to rob my possessions and inflict bodily harm to me.”

A level two attempted murder charge in Florida bears a maximum 15-year incarceration sentence and up to a $10,000 fee in the instance of a finding.

Brown has encountered multiple judicial issues over the years. He earlier had been alleged of physical attack of a vehicle employee, multiple abuse accusations, inability to pay parental support and further incidents.

In a 2021 contest with Tampa Bay against the Jets, Brown removed his uniform, protective gear and gloves and left the arena, causing his dismissal by the franchise and effectively concluding his NFL journey.

Brown, who completed twelve years in the league, was an elite wide receiver who devoted the bulk of his career with the Steelers. Throughout his time, Brown had nine hundred twenty-eight grabs for more than twelve thousand two hundred ninety-one distance, the 28th greatest of history. He was a 7-time Pro Bowl choice.
