Marnus Labuschagne has been dropped from the three-game ODI series against India, as in-form Queensland teammate Matt Renshaw earning a unexpected call-up.
Labuschagne has been omitted from the ODI squad after managing only a single run in his two batting efforts during the top-end series against South Africa in August. The right-hander has a top score of forty-seven in his last 10 ODI batting appearances.
Labuschagne has featured in 68 one-day internationals and accumulated 1,871 ODI runs at an batting average of 34.64 runs per dismissal, but will now continue to press his claims a Test team comeback in time for the Ashes starting in Perth on November 21.

“The majority of the T20 squad will stay as a group as it’s an crucial phase in the preparation for the T20 World Cup next year, however we are aiming to find equilibrium to ensure we simultaneously get ready specific players for the Test series ahead.”
Australia’s three-game ODI series against India begins on 19 October in Perth, before the rivals play five T20s from 29 October.
