Thomas Tuchel Criticizes Wembley Crowd Support Following Emphatic Wales Victory.

The England head coach expressed his disappointment that the Three Lions team did not get more backing from the home crowd during their impressive friendly win against Wales on Thursday evening.

The manager was happy to see his squad continue their winning momentum, with goals from Rogers, Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the initial stages effectively ending the game. However, he was not content with the mood at the national stadium.

“We had limited training days to get ready against a drilled team and we did very well,” the coach remarked. “We could have been 5-0 up at the break. We couldn’t score the additional goals. The stadium was silent. There was no any energy back from the stands. Our team gave their all to win.”

“What more can you deliver in the first quarter? We prevented them escape. If you hear just the Welsh supporters for half an hour, it’s disappointing because the squad warranted more support today.”

“I stand by this statement. We cannot do more than being three goals up in a rivalry match. I would have wished for a little more support in phases where it is challenging.”

“In the second half, to cheer us on, there was excessive support for Wales. It could have helped us to recharge, but it is what it is and so be it.”

Selection Choices Justified by Performance

Away from risking a fight with fans, the manager also raised eyebrows by omitting Bellingham and Foden from his team selection. But the decision was justified by Rogers impressing again in the No 10 position and getting his first international goal.

“He plays his game,” the head coach said. “He is a No 10 and he is vying for his spot.”

Wales Manager Hopes for Lessons from Loss

Craig Bellamy hopes that his team, who host Belgium in a key qualifying match on next week, take lessons from their disappointing performance in the opening period.

“That’s the reason I wanted this game,” Bellamy said. “I need to see our standing. Where do we want to go? What is our identity? This performance fills me with drive.”

Fitness Worry for Watkins

Watkins was substituted at the break after colliding with a post and will be a doubt when the national team play their next opponents in Riga in a World Cup qualifying match on Tuesday.
